1 Litre of Tears

finally, i've managed to complete watching the whole series...
i've never cried so much over a drama before...
now i truly understand what people mean by
''crying so much that your eyes hurt''
your eyes really do hurt...
haha.. =P

but, it's really a great drama ne~
it's a drama that makes people reflect, and think..
somehow, i think i got some ''after thoughts'' from watching this drama..
because the characters are so real, so human..
just like anyone of us...
i guess maybe it's cox it's so realistic that it hurts..

why i would say that is because,
let's say,
for the female lead,
who suffered from spinocerebellar degeneration disease, she is so real because she is like anyone of us..
she thought of giving up..
she felt negative..
she thinks that everything is so unfair...
she finds no meaning in life...
she complained, ''why does it have to be me?''
she falls...
she minds what other people think...
she can't accept the truth...
she cries..

she only starts to appreciate what she has/used to have only when she suffered from the disease, and starts to lose basic human abilities one by one...
slowly, she starts to:
-lose the ability to balance herself
-lose the ability to run
-lose the ability to walk properly
-lose the ability to control her limbs
-lose the ability to swallow properly
-lose the ability to talk
-lose the ability to write

for her family,
her younger brother at one point, felt ashamed to have an ill elder sister like her..
her parents tried escaping from the truth by hiding her condition from her...

for her lovers,
the initial one is a male senior in her basketball team,
he minds her condition and didn't go to the date promised..
the male lead, he gave up easily just because the female lead wrote a letter to him to break up, and didn't meet her for 1 whole year...
(although in the end he really couldn't let her go and went back to her)

for her friends,
one of her best friends who always helped the female lead, eventually felt tired of helping her and broke down when being asked about how she felt...

for her classmates,
they couldn't stand the normal lessons being delayed because of the female lead eventually and although they pretend to be nice and acted as though everything is fine, but actually they didn't like the trouble...

All of these, are the not so nice, not so strong, not so positive side of human being...
but it is exactly these things that made the characters seem like humans...
it is exactly these things that made this drama so realistic..
because, reality hurts just cox the world's not perfect..
and the world's not perfect cox humans, living things, aren't perfect...

i guess, in life, we need such things, so that we would fall down...
and when we fall down, instead of looking down, crying, panicking,
maybe we should just try to look up at the sky..
the beautiful blue sky over our heads..
just like the female lead of this drama...

and maybe, just maybe, we should try to change our mindset..

instead of counting the number of things that you can't/can no longer do, why not start counting the number of things that you can/still can do?

well, i guess this drama is so real basically cox it's adapted from the journal of a girl in real life who suffered from the mentioned disease, from the time she had the disease, till the point in time when she died..
and, till now, the sad thing is, that disease, Spinocerebellar Degeneration Disease, still has no cure..
and this disease is happening to teenagers, possibly from as young as 12...

haix~
people, just before we enter 2009, maybe you can watch 1 Litre of Tears...
it might help you think through some stuff..
haha.. =P
yup yup..
anyways,
Happy New Year in advance everyone!!!!
take care loads...
JA~

*sometimes, when you fall, it takes 1 Litre of Tears to stand up and smile again*
